- Sixteen titles are displayed in the sequence

- The large mountains and a travelling car are the main images prioritised in the sequence. This shows that the location of the film is cut off from the world, far away from civilisation.

- The music is the main way the theme is conveyed. The looming music that sounds as if someone is entering the dungeon in a castle makes you feel confined and unsafe. This is the genre the film is, a horror/thriller.

- The music and arid landscape make you think that this film is not a child or comedy film.

- The camera angles make you think that you're swooping in, like a dragon, looking at this car. In a way, the camera is emphasizing the fact that something supernatural is watching the Torrance family as they enter the depths of the Overlook hotel.
