Updated: Sep 22, 2020

- There are 19 credits shown throughout the title sequence

- The images prioritised in the sequence are that of the jungle, showing that this is somewhere uncivilized and dangerous. The image of natives shows us that it is set in the past. This tells us that they are looking for something. We see one native get scared, however, our protagonist isn't scared, showing his bravery. We see him find a dart with poison, telling us they are in danger, but he is calm. We see him look at a tattered map, showing us he's experienced. We see a native try to betray him and he scares him off, showing his quick wits. These all show us his bravery, courage and smarts, as well as the possible dangers of their quest.

- The setting of the jungle makes you almost immediately know that this is an adventure film. The untamed wildlife, ragged porters and the strong-minded hero shows us who the main character and supporting cast are.

- The male hero, with masculine traits like bravery and courage, as well as no female characters in the opening sequence shows us that this is aimed at males.

- The directorial choice of not showing Indiana Jones makes us have to guess who this man is by what he does. Once the face is seen, you know the character is brave, steadfast and the hero. The use of sound effects for the jungle gives the feeling of hostility to the audience, that this is a dangerous place.
